Temporary room.
Not a permanent profile.
Crossing Sparks is designed for one party at a time. It does not require a player account and does not build a lasting player profile.
What the game temporarily stores
- Your chosen display name, room membership, answers, votes, score, adult confirmation, rules version, and device session.
- Photos you upload for Spark rounds or the Round 4 wildcard.
- Private Spark requests and whether the photo owner accepted or declined.
- Basic room-health events such as joins, phase changes, photo readiness, reports, and host recovery.
What the game does not request
- No real name, email address, phone number, address, contact list, or permanent player account.
- No GPS or other precise location coordinates.
- No advertising profile and no sale of party-room data.
- Host Diagnostics never displays answer text, photo contents, private Spark choices, or location.
Cookies and this device
An essential, secure session cookie reconnects your phone to its room for up to 24 hours. A random device identifier and the current rules-acceptance version are kept in local browser storage. Neither is intended to identify you outside Crossing Sparks.
Photos, reports, and moderation
Photos are displayed anonymously on the TV. Spark reveals a player’s chosen display name only through the private connection flow. Pass stays private. A reported Spark photo is immediately hidden from the room. The private owner moderation queue may display the reported image and temporary room code so the report can be reviewed. A moderator may remove the image or store a one-way hash of the browser device identifier for a temporary 30-day block.
Deletion and retention
The host can choose End Party + Erase Room to remove the room immediately. Otherwise, rooms inactive for 24 hours are queued for automatic cleanup during application maintenance. Cleanup removes photos, answers, votes, scores, display names, sessions, reports, and private Sparks. A short-lived room-code tombstone may remain for up to seven days solely to prevent an erased code from reopening. Separate anonymous game statistics are retained for up to 180 days, daily aggregate counts for up to 365 days, and privacy-safe operational event counts for up to 30 days.
Anonymous usage analytics
Crossing Sparks counts rooms opened, games started and completed, participant and audience seats, photo uploads, Spark taps, accepted connections, reports, rejoins, host recovery, and technical failures. These statistics do not contain player names, answers, photos, device identifiers, room codes, or private Spark choices.
Coarse regional data
For aggregate usage reporting, Crossing Sparks stores the approximate country, region, and city supplied by the hosting network when a TV opens a room. It does not store the underlying IP address or request GPS. Network-derived location can be missing or inaccurate and is visible only in the private owner dashboard.
Your controls
You can remove your Spark photo and its votes, leave the room, report a displayed Spark photo, or ask the host to end and erase the entire party. For help, contact hello@crossingsparks.com.
